RECOGNIZED COMPONENT is a part or subassembly intended for use in other equipment and that has been investigated for certain construction or performance (or both) characteristics.
A Recognized Component is incomplete in construction features or is restricted in performance capabilities so as not to warrant its acceptability as a field-installed component.
It is intended solely as a factory-installed component of other equipment where its acceptability is determined by UL.
